Construction zone accident in North Carolina kills 5

Driving through construction zones in North Carolina may be a summertime right of passage, but in actuality, it is a big headache. The congestion, the slow-downs and other factors combine to make driving in construction zones incredibly frustrating. However, it is important to take care when driving through a construction zone. The failure to do so could spell disaster.

Two girls along with their mother and father lost their lives when the vehicle they were riding in was struck by the semi-truck. The semi-truck driver also died in the crash. The accident occurred as the semi-truck was nearing a work zone but did not slow down. It struck a pickup truck the victims were in and thence commenced a chain-reaction crash, resulting in vehicle fires and further people being injured.

The accident took place in North Carolina near the South Carolina state line. The deceased includes a 32-year-old woman, a 25-year-old man and their 4-year-old and 1-year-old daughters. The 68-year-old driver of the semi-truck was also killed.

This accident is a tragedy that never should have occurred. It has affected many people. Not only did people lose their lives, but their families are left to cope with the loss of a loved one. People in situations like these may also be suffering financially, as they bear the costs associated with their loved one's death. These include funeral and burial expenses, any medical expenses incurred prior to their loved one's death, and the loss of companionship. Therefore, people who have lost a loved one in a North Carolina car accident may want to take the steps necessary to learn more about their legal options.
